Update 11/15/08
Since I did not have much choice, it was a question of not 'if', but 'when'. I decided to have the doctor who performed my BHR to also do the THR and I am glad I did. All X-rays show that he did an excellent job in placing the device. With your advice following surgery, I decided to keep my exercise routine rather simple through the use of a stationary bicycle and water aerobics. It seems to have worked very well at this point. I realized today (after almost 4 months) that my hip feels almost completely normal to me with no restrictions. In fact, I played golf this past week, and had no side effects at all! I still have somewhat limited ROM like touching my toes or putting on socks, but I can see improvement slowly, but surely! I go back to see my surgeon in January and will ask them then if it is possible to play racquetball again! If he concurs, I may try playing again, but only in doubles. If not, guess I will stick to golf.
