 During my childhood and teens I did competitive figureskating and dancing. By the time I was 45, I slept with a pillow between my legs and limited walking and dancing . My first xray then showed that I had beginning arthritis. With a lot of glucosamine and MSM I made it to age 61 until I had my first hip resurface (11/14/2007). My Main problem was pain in resting position which is an indicator for bone on bone. i maintained an extreme range of motion before and after surgery. Surgery was performed by Dr. Bose in Chennai /India and exposed a shallow socket which is a version of displasia. Now age 62 (12/10/2008) I had my second hip resurfaced as well , both recoveries were uneventful but I suffered a lot of pain during the first 2 days post op. Better pain management would have been nice. Two of my friends had food poisoning in the hospital which isn't encouraging. Other than that I can clearly recommend Apollo Hospital and their staff . Very sweet and caring nurses, results of the surgery are wonderful and well worth the long travel.
