- Dr. Kusuma, Columbus, OH- Hi Dr. Kusuma, can you please first start out by telling us how you got started with Hip Resurfacing and give us a little background on your experience as a surgeon. Where did you train for hip resurfacing? Who trained you? Are you continuing your training after starting resurfacing? 
- Dr. McMinn Interview, U.K. **VIDEO**- I started back in 1991 with the antero-lateral approach to the hip for resurfacing. At that time we were worried about blood supply to the femoral head and on theoretical grounds the antero-lateral approach preserved the blood supply well. For many patients the approach was satisfactory but there were some problems. 
- Dr. Della Valle Interview, Chicago, IL- I was intrigued by the idea of hip resurfacing as an alternative to conventional total hip arthroplasty. Specifically, the data showing that hip resurfacing performs best, in the patients in whom a conventional total hip performs worst (young, active male patients) was particularly appealing. 
- Dr. Zelicof Interview, NY- I have been practicing orthopaedic surgery in Westchester County, New York since 1990. Prior to beginning my practice, I attended college and medical school at the University of Pennsylvania and performed an orthopedic residency at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. After my residency, I sought advanced training in the field of joint reconstruction and replacement at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital – Harvard Medical School. This specialized fellowship allowed me to obtain a comprehensive view of joint preservation, restoration techniques and arthritis management.
